The second week of European mobilization achieved great success. It started in Florence on 16 October and finished on Saturday 25 in Rome where the JEF Italy organized a stand during the CGIL national demonstration. In a few hours 400 signatures were collected and there was a long queue of people, including the actor and director Ascanio Celestini who, well-known for his social commitment, signed our ECI.
Events and collections of signatures were organized in Florence, Madrid, Genova, Barcelona, Trieste, Cosenza, Seville, Lecco, Verona, Vicenza, Brussels, Frosinone, Montesilvano (Pescara), Ravenna and Paris.
On October 22, on occasion of the investiture debate of the new European Commission in Strasbourg, a twitter action was addressed to the MEPs, Juncker and Katainen. On October 24 Fausto Durante, representative of New Deal 4 Europe ECI, launched the "One Million #NewDeal4Europe Challenge".

Current news. Jean-Claude Juncker: €300 billion investments before Christmas.
Jean-Claude Juncker, the new elected President of the European Commission, in his statement in the European Parliament plenary session ahead of the vote on the College (Strasbourg, 22nd October 2014) affirmed that: "The level of investment in the EU dropped by just under €500 billion, or 20%, after its latest peak in 2007. We are facing an investment gap. We have to work to bridge that gap. Europe can help make this happen. As you know, I intend to present an ambitious €300 billion Investment package for Jobs, Growth and Competitiveness. I will not now tell you all the details of what this package will contain. How can I when my new Team has yet to even meet to discuss it? You will just have to have a little faith. You have my word that my College will start working on this day and night from the moment we take office. If you give us your support today, we will present the Package before Christmas. This is not a promise, it is an affirmation." Read the full statement here.
